Celebrities like Madonna, Demi Moore and Jennifer Aniston have tried and tested the zone diet and vouch for its efficacy. The Zone Diet aims to achieve a perfect hormonal balance.

“The food plan comprises of an accurate balanced ratio of carbohydrates (40%), fat (30%) and proteins (30%). You are allowed to eat foods, which control your body’s insulin production. The best part about this diet is that no meal or snack is forbidden in this form of dieting,” says nutritionist Ishi Kochar.

In this kind of diet, recipes with a low-carbohydrate diet plan, not dominated by carbohydrates are followed. “The Zone Diet, unlike other diets, insists dieters keep a watch on the consumption of calories while eating. A meal not exceeding 500 calories and a snack not exceeding 100 calories is ideal to stay in the Zone,” she adds.

According to her, an oatmeal breakfast or sandwiches with low-fat cheese, one tablespoon of mustard, fresh spinach with tomatoes are ideal for this kind of dieting.
